Depending on the information obtained, they may recommend special preparation before the procedure , such as taking an antibiotic. Additional tests may be required (blood count, X-ray). If the patient has an X-ray image or recent test results, they may prove useful during the surgical consultation. After the initial arrangements, the doctor informs a patient about the possible procedures and contraindications and schedules a procedure for a specific date.

• Removal of cysts – sometimes, due to chronic inflammation, cyst-like lesions appear in the jawbone, damaging the bone and dislodging the roots of adjacent teeth. Such lesions must be removed from the bone during surgery.
• Frenulum plastic surgery – applies to patients in whom the tissue connecting the tongue or lip is incorrectly attached to the gum. In young children, it may cause malocclusion or problems with correct articulation. During the procedure, the doctor corrects the shape of the frenulum and sews it to the gum in the right place.
• Tooth apex resection – a procedure involving the removal of the root apex. In the case of more severe lesions, resection may protect the patient from tooth extraction.
