A gynecologic oncologist specializes in the comprehensive treatment of cancers affecting the female reproductive organs.

When should you see a gynecologic oncologist?

• In the case of diagnosed precancerous conditions – to discuss the clinical status and plan further diagnostics,
• With a confirmed cancer diagnosis of the reproductive organs – to plan or continue treatment, or for routine follow-up,
• During cancer treatment – for periodic monitoring,
• After cancer treatment – for ongoing follow-up care.

During the consultation, a gynecologic oncologist may:

• conduct a medical interview and gynecological examination focused on the specific cancer,
• qualify the patient for oncological treatment,
• make a diagnosis,
• provide medical recommendations,
• issue referrals for tests, specialist consultations, or hospitalization,
• issue medical leave certificates.
