Paediatric ophthalmologist

An ophthalmologist diagnoses and treats eye diseases.

During then consultation, the doctor:

• conducts an interview and ophthalmological examination,
• makes a diagnosis,
• gives medical recommendations,
• issues referrals for examinations, consultations, or hospitalisation.

During the visit, the doctor may:

• in simple cases, remove the foreign body from the eye,
• remove the stitches and put on a dressing,
• measure intraocular pressure,
• put medication into the conjunctival sac.

The doctor can perform the following examinations:

• examine the anterior and posterior segment of the eye using a slit lamp,
• tonometry (intraocular pressure test),
• visual acuity,
• autorefractometry,
• spatial vision,
• colour vision,
• other tests resulting from the diagnostic process - at the doctor's discretion.

Paediatric ophthalmologist treats children aged 3 to 18.

Please arrive at the Center’s reception desk 15 minutes before your appointment and bring an ID with you.

The offer does not include the selection of lenses with a smooth focal length (progressive lenses) or the selection and fitting of contact lenses. For a professional selection of corrective lenses (and contact lenses), we invite you to visit an optometrist.

During the ophthalmological visit, the doctor will not perform a fundus examination.
