Why is it worth doing the Women's Hormone Test Package?
The hormonal system is the most complex mechanism in a woman's body, regulated on many levels. Even slight disturbances, whether external (e.g. stress) or internal, can disrupt hormonal balance. Moreover, a change in one hormone often affects others.
Hormonal imbalances may present as irregular periods, severe PMS symptoms, weight gain, decreased libido, worsened skin condition (e.g. acne), hair loss, and brittle nails. Hormonal fluctuations can also interfere with life plans, including the ability to become a mother. According to the WHO, as many as 15% of couples globally struggle with infertility. While many factors can reduce fertility, hormonal disorders are a significant cause. That’s why checking your female hormones is important — to be sure everything works as it should. If not, you’ll be able to consult a doctor and begin treatment.
Fertility isn’t the only concern. Hormonal imbalances can affect daily functioning — causing mood swings, irritability, depression, anxiety, and reduced stress tolerance. You may also feel constantly tired, lack energy, or struggle to focus. Sex hormones also play a key role in bone health. Estrogen deficiencies, especially during menopause, increase the risk of osteoporosis and weakened bones.
Let’s not forget appearance — hormone levels directly affect how a woman looks, contributing to acne, hirsutism, male-pattern baldness, swelling, skin changes, and weight fluctuations. Some hormonal conditions, such as insulin resistance in PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), can disrupt glucose metabolism, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes and weight gain.
Hormone level tests help detect irregularities, guide treatment plans, and ultimately improve well-being. You can now do these tests in the comfort and safety of your own home!

- Schedule the package between day 2 and 5 of your cycle (unless your doctor advises otherwise).
- Perform the test no earlier than 3–4 hours after waking.
- Avoid intense physical activity and stressful situations before the test.
- Refrain from sexual activity the day before the test.
- You don’t need to fast for this test.
- Drink a glass of water 30 minutes before the sample is taken.
Full list of tests included in the package:
- TSH Hormone produced by the pituitary gland that regulates thyroid function. Abnormal values may indicate hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
- Estradiol Regulates ovarian function and menstrual cycle. Also affects skin and bone health, water retention, and mood changes.
- FSH Follicle-stimulating hormone produced by the pituitary gland. Stimulates estrogen production and follicle maturation. Irregular FSH levels can cause water retention, weight gain, and mood issues.
- LH Luteinizing hormone produced by the pituitary gland. Stimulates estradiol production in the ovaries. Abnormal LH levels may be found in PCOS and hypothyroidism, potentially causing weight gain, excessive hair growth, and acne.
- Prolactin Produced by the pituitary gland, responsible for lactation. High prolactin levels are normal during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Otherwise, they may hinder conception, lower libido, and stop menstruation.
- DHEA-SO4 Produced by the adrenal glands from cholesterol. An important diagnostic marker for PCOS, adrenal hyperplasia, tumors, cancers, and precocious puberty.
- Testosterone Produced in women by the ovaries and adrenal cortex. Regulated by LH. Elevated testosterone levels occur in PCOS and may cause irregular menstruation, unwanted hair growth, acne, and increased fat accumulation.
- SHBG A protein that binds sex hormones. Often elevated with high androgen levels — responsible for PCOS and excess facial/body hair in women.
Factors that may affect results
- medications containing or affecting hormone levels;
- smoking;
- recent radioactive tracer imaging tests;
- intense physical activity;
- hormonal contraception;
- the cycle day on which the tests are performed;
- sexual activity before testing (especially affects prolactin levels);
What hormonal disorders can the package detect?
Hormonal imbalances in women can be linked to thyroid disorders (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto’s), reproductive system diseases (endometriosis, PCOS), acne, hair loss, and weight gain. They can also disrupt menstrual cycles and fertility. Many factors can influence test results, so always consult a specialist.
