Healthy Thyroid Package

The Healthy Thyroid Package includes a thyroid ultrasound and a set of laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis and prevention of thyroid diseases.

Scope of the package:

• Thyroid ultrasound is a basic imaging test dedicated to patients with suspected thyroid diseases. It allows the doctor to assess the size, shape, location and morphological evaluation of this gland. During the examination, the surrounding lymph nodes are also evaluated. The examination is completely non-invasive and painless.
   
• Thyrotropic Hormone- TSH. The test allows to determine the level of thyrotropic hormone in the blood - a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland. Based on the result, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism can be determined.
   
• Free triiodothyronine - fT3. This is one of the main thyroid hormones. The action and normal level of this hormone is essential for the proper functioning of the entire body-it controls the activities of most organs, supports metabolic processes and the functioning of the central nervous system.
   
• Free thyroxine - fT4. The test allows to determine the level of free thyroxine - a hormone that performs an important function in the body - among other things, regulates metabolism.
   
• Antithyroid microsomal antibodies - ATPO. Testing the level of anti-TPO antibodies, i.e. antibodies against thyroid protein - thyroperoxidase. In a healthy person, ATPO is not present, so any result should be consulted with a doctor.
   
• Antithyroglobulin antibodies - ATG. The test is performed in suspected autoimmune thyroid diseases - it is detected in disorders of this gland.

Thyroid ultrasound has no special preparation-it is non-invasive and completely safe, and takes about 15-20 minutes. Report to the reception of the facility about 15 minutes before the appointment.

For blood tests report on an empty stomach in the morning to the chosen facility during the hours of operation of the Intake Point. 2-3 days before the test it is recommended to avoid alcohol and 12 hours before the test do not consume coffee or tea. If possible, it is advisable to perform the test before taking morning medication - unless otherwise advised by your doctor. In the morning it is recommended to drink a glass of water and remain at rest for 10-15 minutes before the test.  The test can be performed regardless of the day of the cycle.
