Surdological therapy is aimed at
children and adolescents with hearing impairment. The most
important thing is to start surdological therapy as soon as hearing
impairment is diagnosed. Surdological therapy helps the patient
develop language skills and recognise ambient sounds and speech
sounds.
Surdological therapy
includes:
- enriching passive and active vocabulary,
- compensation of impaired hearing functions,
- breathing exercises,
- articulation exercises,
- voice exercises,
- hearing exercises.
Objectives of surdological
therapy for children and adolescents:
- teaching children with hearing impairments to communicate
freely with others,
- developing speech in phonetic, lexical and grammatical
terms,
- eliminating behaviours interfering with communication and
ensuring comprehensive and integrated psychomotor development,
- improving clarity of expression.
