Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 regulates the functioning of the nervous system (formation of myelin sheaths), circulatory system (production of red blood cells in the body) and digestive system (fat and carbohydrate metabolism and folate absorption).

Evaluation of vitamin B12 levels is performed to diagnose the cause of anemia or neuropathy (i.e., peripheral nerve disorders), and simply to determine a deficiency of this vitamin.
