Breast Cancer Prevention Package

What is the "Breast Cancer Prevention Package"?

Consider buying our prophylactic package for women. The package includes the following service:

• gynecological consultation,
• breast ultrasound,
• bilateral mammography,
• breast self-examination instructions (from an obstetrics consultant).

As part of the breast cancer prevention package, patients can perform all the services included in the package at a selected Damian Medical Center clinic.

The package is dedicated in particular to women over 40 and includes a mammographic examination, which should be performed on mature women. This is due to the characteristic glandular structure of the breast tissues, which is contrasted in the examination. This means that on an x-ray film with a breast X-ray, it is visible as white streaks and smaller lesions may be overlooked. Breast of a mature woman is made mainly of adipose tissue, which is visible in the picture in black, which makes it much easier to visualize any lesions.

Ionizing radiation (X radiation), despite a very small beam emitted during the mammography examination, may also affect the patient's health. However, it should be remembered that it has been recognized as safe, and regular breast examination with a mammograph definitely brings more benefits than risks. It is important that it is performed at appropriate intervals (preferably according to the doctor's instructions). In general, it is recommended that patients undergo such an examination every 2 years.

Of course, if there are clear medical indications, mammography may be performed in patients already at the age of 18.

A referral from a doctor is required for the mammographic examination.

Services included in the package are performed by doctors entitled to use the title of “MD” and those possessing the degree of “Ph.D.” Consultations and examinations with professors are paid according to the CMD price list – they are not included in the package.

When purchasing a package, the buyer may indicate another adult woman who will use the package, hereinafter referred to as the entitled person. When purchasing online, the entitled person may be indicated at any CMD facility before the first service within the package is provided.

The package may be used in:

• at the Damian Medical Center facility, by submitting a signed application, indicating the value of the package, date of purchase and name, personal ID No. (PESEL) (or date of birth) and address of the buyer and a person removed from the package or included in the package,
• or by sending a scan of such application to the address dak@damian.pl. The buyer may start using the package immediately after the purchase price has been paid.

In the case of online purchase, the option to use the package becomes available after three business days following the date of payment.

The prevention package can only be used in Warsaw.
